Delete your BookByte account

You can request deletion of your BookByte account and its associated data at any time. Here is exactly how — and what happens to your information.

How to request deletion

From within the app

The fastest way, and you stay in control from start to finish:

  1. 1Open BookByte and sign in to your account.
  2. 2Go to Profile → Account settings.
  3. 3Tap “Delete account”.
  4. 4Read the confirmation and confirm your request.

By email

Prefer not to use the app? Email us from the address registered to your BookByte account and we will verify and process your request.

What happens to your data

Once you confirm, your account is scheduled for deletion. Within 31 days your personal data is anonymised and permanently removed. A limited set of records is kept longer only where the law requires it, then permanently deleted.

Deleted

  • Your profile and personal details (name, email, phone number)
  • Your reservations and pre-order history
  • Ratings, reviews and saved preferences
  • Loyalty and bonus balances
  • Support conversations

Kept for a limited period

  • Transaction and payment records we are legally required to retain for tax and accounting purposes
  • These are held only for the statutory retention period, then permanently deleted
  • Card details are never stored on our servers — payments are handled by our processor, Stripe
